Where can I get an ignition switch for an XB Fairmont?
I don't know if this is where I'm meant to post this, but it seems like as good a spot as any.
Does anyone know where I can get an ignition switch to fit a '75 XB Fairmont? None of the stores in my area have them. None of the wreckers seem to have them. My car, currently, does not have one. Well, it does. But it's rooted. So I need a new one. NEED. Or my car won't start. It's currently sitting at the auto elecs and the bloke there has rung around a heap of places and HE can't find any either. I really need one. Has anyone got any idea?

Rare Spares couldn't help me. I've been there a few times for parts and they haven't been much help at all, actually. I'm going to call GT Ford Performance tommorrow morning. Thanks for that.

Alright, rang GT Ford yesterday morning and they said that the ignition switches are no longer made, and haven't been for years, so I'll probably never find a new one. However, GT Ford do have some fairly well conditioned 2nd hand ones. Now, obviously they are as rare as that makes them sound, as it cost me $150 for the switch as well as the plug and loom. $150, but it needed to be done, so I'm trying to just stay happy with the fact that I found one. That's being delivered to my door today and then I'll take it down to the auto-elec and hopefully have my baby running again by tommorrow night.
GT Ford's site has been bookmarked in my favourites list, and their number/address/details have been scribbled down on paper and stuck on my cards-board for later reference. Thanks for the heads up there Falcon Coupe, it was a big help.
