Question Where's the V8

i know this has been mentioned before on a thread awhile ago (can't remember which one or when), but i'm just wondering why the v8 won't be released until next year (march i think i heard). is there a problem with the engine or getting parts?
this is giving holden a potential 6 month advantage. the BARRA BOSS (i love saying that) in the XR8 260kW is exactly what ford needs right now to inject quick life in to sales and get the people interested (very). we can't have them getting tired of waiting and purchasing a VY ss/sv8 instead. Even Uncle Polities, i think, made a statement that releasing all the models at once would get the public thinking that the Barra is an all new car and distance it from the AU ( it could have been a columnist - correct me if i'm wrong).
i also remember reading that they've been working on the Ba V8 supercar (with bonnet bulge i hope) for some time now and they're previewing the GT at the Sydney motorshow next month, so i'm assuming alls right with the engine. is this a marketing strategy to build interest in the XR6 turbo.
can someone provide any insight

(black XR8 definitly the way to go until GT, or even GTHO - please uncle Geoff)

Red face re:

Ford Australia's biggest priority at this very minute is to produce as many BA XT models....as well as fairmont's..ghia's etc.. to maximize sales and boost the new BA range. Many fleet buyers purchase these models in bulk orders......it really would not be logical for Ford to produce a couple hundred XR8's because the average joe blow don't have $50000.00 odd grand to buy such a car.........BA XT is much more affordable and hense will sell in greater volumes. Be patient.....XR8 will come and when it does will be a great success.

The standard V8 will be available from the word go. Just the HP engines that are delayed. Unsure of the reason why this is so however :oo1:

You don't want to believe all you read - how can they have a BA V8 supercar - unless of course they can put the existing Windsor 5 litre V8 into a BA? It's not something I can imagine happening but .......

Whether or not the roadgoing 5.4 is ready has nothing to do with the BA version of the V8 supercars.... all they need is the bodyshell to get one ready for the track.
They will still put the race prepped Windsor 5.0 litre V8 into the BA ..... it is a 5.0 litre category after all.
It's not like the HRT cars are riding around with an LS1 under the bonnet They just run the Chev 5.0 litre.

And just 'cause they're showing the GT at the Motorshow doesn't mean it has to be a working/running model (just like the XR6 in the container being shown). It will most likey be roped off or on a turnstile.... don't want people getting too close .... otherwise they'd need to install a drain under the car for all the drool to run away :s5

Ford have the XR6T from the word go - this engine is far superior to the Gen3 in the SS/SV8. Its also more efficient, costs less to register ect ect.

Its really only the Clubsport R8, SV300 and Coupes that Ford don't have an answer to. Considering the handling, looks, engine there will still be quite a lot of people who will take the XR6T over the Clubsport despite it being a few kw down on that car.

And realisticaly the BA is not really targeting just Holden anymore - This time they have a car that can match the best European and Japanese sedans. While there are people who buy thoes cars purely for the badge the people who don't will be looking seriously at the BA.
