I know that the Barra is the real deal, and that there has been an enormous amount of work put in by Ford to make the BA even better than just another Australian car. The whole process, design, thought, management, evaluation etc, has been accomplished with the goal to make a better car.

The proof is in the pudding. There is no point speculating what someone else's opinion is about the product, ultimately it is the buyer who makes the decision to purchase the car, because they have to live with it. It is the marketers job to point them in the direction the company want.

I cannot believe that sane, reasonable, intelligent people such as those on this forum can get so upset about a written opinion about a car. It is a car for God's sake. I am just as passionate about my Fords as other people, but it is a car, it isn't an attack on your profession, your reputation or your way of life by uninformed (90% of) parasites masquerading as 'journalists'.

If you truly believe that the BA is the car for you, BUY IT. If you truly believe that Ford make the car that is everything you want then give them your PATRONAGE.

If you want to buy something so you have bragging rights or for someone else to write something nice so you feel justified in spending YOUR money, then you're buying the wrong product.

Come on guys, you don't need someone elses opinion to justify your decisions about which car is good or bad. Ford have traditionally gotten a raw deal from the media so just accept that it may take a long time to change. In the mean time be satisfied that the BA is a brilliant piece of engineering and shows that Australian know how is up with the best of them!!!!

Journalists who are they? Well they are the lucky buggers spoilt rotten with the ability to test any car they want. As a result there choices are so many they can often put unrealistic expectations on cars even the price brackets, car specs (comparing a BMW M3 with a XR6?) and the person who are buying the car.

The targeted buyers never put the car through the paces no where near the way the journos do. Not to mention a certain automotive 'bias' I see. Page upon page dedicated to a two door Commidorre geez. Maybe they should compare it with other two door cars like a Ferrari and Aston Martin, lol. That would not be fair now would it? Then that Camry 'dedication' is enough to make you sick. A foreign car built locally with a few Australian bits does not make it special apart from keeping some folks off the Dole. As for some of those recent reviews on the Falcon vs Commidorre with a only marginal win I smell a rat.
Anyway I don't give a stuff about jounalists they wrote of the AU and it was'nt a half bad car. I like reading magazines in the Newsagent but as for buying them I don't I do what all grown ups do- test drive the car and then make up your mind.

You all realise Ford and GM are huge corparations that have brainwashed millions around the world to feel 'passionate'... In the end, the corparations make huge amounts of money while the 'passionate' supporters just get fustrated on internet forums...

As for Ford and GM brainwashing million - there is only so far a company can go with advertising, in the end it's up to you to drive the car you drive, like plonky said.

I truly don't believe that a corporation can brainwash any one into feeling 'passionate' about anything. That's Communist talk! I'm passionate about cars because of the sounds, the looks, the ability to go around corners etc. I am also passionate about Rugby Union, motor racing, guitar playing, motorbikes, reading WW2 German history, Ancient Roman and Greek History etc.
I am passioante about it because it interests me, not because a corporation told me to.

Like a lot of people on these forums, I'm not frustrated but relish the opportunity to put forward our opinions and interests. This empowers us as consumers to have a form of ownership in the product.

To diminish our input for chatting about something we enjoy (Fords) is akin to some Stalinist regime.
