Why did you get YOUR car??

Hey Guys!

Just thought id start up a bit of a thread on why you decided to buy/obtain YOUR car??

Well mine is an XF...the reason why i got it was because i am a fan of the styling, cheap, easy to fix, pretty reliable..and well helps me get round while im saving for something better!

Well I really wanted a Holden but they were more expensive, and though I was originally going to get an XF, I was able to stretch the extra for an EA, and ended up finding a Ghia within my price range. As it turns out, the Fords were even more to my taste than the Holdens of the era. I inevitably cop a bit of crap from people who have a whole bunch of generalisations about these cars, but

I brought my AU11 XR8 because I am more of crazy Ford supporter than I thought. I could have bought one of those SS's for around $2,000 less but the old heart strings wouldn't let me do it.
Now it's had the HERROD treatment and will kick the ass off most things that come in its way. What's more it is super reliable and strong.
Thanks Rob and the boys at Herrod's. Keep up the unbeliavable work.

Yeap, that about sums it up for me as well.

The only thing I didn't want was Venom Red as the Falcon I traded in was red as well. The way things turned out though, it was the only colour I could get in a 6 week waiting period.

I was actually looking for an EDXR8 Sprint when i came across a Black Pearl EDXR8 wif 2000'ks on it
Considering the amount of $$ Ive spent on it especially wayyyyyyy back in 94 when parts were hard to get. I could have bought a VN GRP A for $43 THOU but Im happy I didnt

Probably the same reason I've bought all the others.
The concept appealed to me and the price was attainable.

Having said that it has frequently been the case that the reality of ownership has not matched the expectations but this one has been an exception to that rule in most areas - except retained value.
