today, being 4.11am i am still awake while my 3 y/o daughter continues to scream her guts out.

meantime i have a headcold and no medication - and my eyes are balls of fire waiting to burn the inside of my sockets.

my wife has made me a milo.....

kids cry for two reasons, more food and attention, maybe shes not well and need food , its hard with kids but as 4 u, ur on the puter feeln like crap, eyes feel like sandpaper and ur heads going to xplode, but u can still drag ur way infront of a screen to chat to ur mates, meanwhile ur poor wife id dealing with a screaming kid and a grumpy old man

Philbie, I can relate. I know what your going through but have no advice and no solution. Just remember, you get to go to work today (albiet feeling like crap), Mrs Philbie gets to stay home with a very tired and grumpy girl. Either way, its going to be a long day for both of you.

I can recommend fernergan in extreame cases like this....may be worth a trip to the GP to discuss.

I know that feeling well. Although my son doesnt stay up coz hes sick or grumpy, he just stays up. And always has. He is 7 now and has done it all his life. He goes to sleep around 2am and gets up around 4am. And has done his whole life.

Explanation is that he just doesnt need much sleep. If he has 4 or 5 hours, hes a grumpy bugger in the morning. Hes happiest on a few hours, doesnt fade at school, is happy as a pig in shit all day, easy to get along with etc.

However, he is borderline ADHD and hes also "gifted" (I hate that term). So hes very creative with mischief, 22 hours a day. And he is a full on extrovert, liking attention so he wants to talk about things all night!

My parents say it is their revenge. I was exactly the same at his age and am now. LOL

My daughter sleeps 12 hours a night and is buggered if she doesnt. Shes quiet and introverted, and spends most of her time in her room. Weird how genetics work.

But my son, for all his faults, is adorable and we are CLOSE. Which is very cool.
