Maybe not an EH, but you could draw paralells between the current situation and the early 80's. When the VB
and the XD falcon were released, the commie was seen as a euro sophisticate while the falc was seen as a dinosaur in pretty clothes. As the models were updated, however, the public saw that holden was essentially resting on their laurels, while ford was making genuine advances in important fields. As we know, ford went on to dominate sales throughout the 80s Compare this to AV vs VY. from what I've seen the VY will essentially be a VT with different (square headlights). In the meantime the AV will be getting a new body, new engines, new suspension and new interior. The public perception could well be that ford is the more dynamic, responsive company, as it was in the 80's. The VT body, even despite its wide spread appeal, is quite conservative, and this could exacerbate holden's problems. This is of course the Ford optimists point of view, no doubt there is another way of viewing it which is favourable to the holden camp.
