This thread is a continuation of dkmag's thread "AV = Average".
...
Now!.. i was at the XXXXX on the weekend and the worker there seemed to have some inside information, and me being as gullable as i am.. i seem to believe him.
He said... It will not be called AV because this is an abbrievation of "Average".. (so you can just imagine the critics).
Alternatively, he goes on to say that he has spoken to someone inside and he strongly believes that it will either be called "AB" or possibly "AC" and will have alot of design elements as the mondeo! Including a slightly modified version of its lights, and similiar interior.
The AU was more "taurus"-based. But This time around, with the so-called "AB" Ford are appartently opting for more euro-styling.
He also confirmed the turbos in the XR6's, and that work on them reached a peak of 310kws at FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt believe this!!! BUT OF COURSE... the turbos released will NOT BE THIS MUCH (apparently around 215kw).
One thing i dont understand is... Why would the official FORD website suggest "the AV FALCON is coming" and with all this hype about it... why change? Ahhh i guess we just have to wait till September. Aint that far now!!! :)

Au is the name of gold on the periodic table and that didnt make one scrap of difference in sales did it.
as someone has said in annother thread something along the lines of this " It's the car not the name that counts" so it doesnt matter if the model name was pos as long as it looks good goes well then people will buy it.
Edit sorry if i sound harsh to anyone, it isnt meant that way.

^^^^There is truth in that statement. I recently went on a motorbike tour, and one of the guys along was an engineer for Tickford.
They said the power that they were getting out of the Turbo was amazing. He told me 300kw. But, obviously they could not realise it like that.
He said a few simple mods, and you will have 250kw.
The reason that they could not do this, is because they could not sell the V8.
Am I the only one here who subscribes to the belief that 'AV' is NOT an abbreviation of 'average' due to the fact that 'avg' is the abbreviation??? I have never seen 'AV' used to indicate 'average' (and I watch a lot of sports on TV).
Like I said in the other post, model designation does not count for shit; it's the car that counts.
If Ford are so worried about the model designation, then the car must be a ripper; they couldn't have much else to worry about.
