Hope you guys are right as the Clubsport and R8 is where all the volume is in this market. If FPVs entry level vehicle {sedan i mean} the GT is 70 or over i think they will struggle to reach their sales targets 320kw or not. Sure XR8 will have Clubsport power at a lesser price but fact is alot of buyers like to pay the extra 10k and get a vehicle thats one step above an SS or XR8 and more exclusive. I think this will become the case more than ever given that XR8 is'nt quite as agressive as it used to be for looks compared to a base Falcon. If GT can start at about 60 they should be able to show HSV a thing or two.
IMO its more likely that the GT goes up againts R8 with a price of just under $70k. And the GT-P against the Senator Signature ($74,000) and the Senator ($80,000)
You'd have to be in a fairy land to think ford is going to give a 300 - 320kw car away for around $60k. And if it ever comes out the GTHO againts the GTS.
From FPV website The GT-P packs the same potent V8 engine as the GT with further performance and luxury enhancements as standard.
VY Clubby is 58K
VY R8 is 68K
XR8 will be 52K estimated
That is the competition, Ford would not leave a gap of 18k to the next model above the xr8. Especially when that is the volume of the "special" vehicles range.
