Re: Window tinting?

It's not just the type of tint, it's also the installation that counts.
The best you can do is go for word of mouth referrals.

Tint-a-car in FerntreeGully do a decent job and they use the latest tech films from 3M etc etc

I guess you want something that won't change colour or peel or bubble over time. Also look at UV absorption/reflection qualities as this can help keep your car cooler and protect the plastics and parcel shelf speakers in the car from cracking etc.

I'll second that. Plus the owner has a schmick BA GT and is part of the Vic XR club. He personally did mine, and I could not fault it.

Re: Window tinting?

Yeah thats right

I wouldnt want the windscreen tinted even if it were legal to do it. You wouldnt be able to see where you were going, especially at night:)

Re: Window tinting?

ok guys i rang up Tint-A-Car in Ferntree Gully and here are my options:

Summer Breeze
98% UV Protection
45% heat protection
48% glare protection
was $295 down $50 to $245

Ash Cool
99% UV Pro.
55% heat Pro.
58% glare Pro.
slight blue colour
was $395 down $75 to $320

Formula 1
99.9% UV Pro.
65% heat Pro.
68% glare Pr.
Some other features as this is there top of the range
was $495 down $100 to $395

i was thinking formula 1 as it is a bit darker and i would save $100 :)

what you guys think?

Re: Window tinting?

actually now i have been thinking about it, $395 is a lot to spend on tinting.

i was thinking of getting summer breeze, i havnt got a lot of money to spend on this type of stuff.
