finally...after waiting so long, i have been able to pick up the brand soanking new xr6. first decent new car i have owned. went for the premium sound and that was about it. have given up smoking so am saving the $$$ to get some 17's at christmas (or go to england for holidays).
have to admit that i was a bit sad to see the other two cars go. bye bye ef xr6. bye bye mondeo (even though you were a problem child). strangely enough, i miss the mondeo a bit more. probably cos i drove it more than i got to drive the xr.
but i did get to take the xr for a decent last drive last week. i love 4 cyl cars, but there really is something about a big comfortable car with power.
also, for those that read my post about the dealer (mc inerney ford) it is fair to point out that we reached a compromise. i got to put some of the purchase on the visa card and the rest by bank cheque. i have to commend ford's 'helpline' as they directed me that way. funny thing is...they are making up signs about paying visa cards now. and to think the business manager told me that he had never heard of anyone paying by visa...
anyway, get to take the new xr (i dont care if the new car smell causes cancer, i like it) for a bit of a run again tonight to pick up the missus. excellent fun!!
Hey well done rsgerry, good to see the benefits from not smoking are allready paying off. Not sure if you are already a member, but I went along to the Tickford club of WA last month for there AGM and they seemed like a great bunch of guys and gals. They are meeting again at FTE on the 2nd of March. Maybe i'll see you there...
Sweet sweet ride there mate. Hope you get driving pleasure for years to come.
