Would you go to Bali?

As the title suggests, would you travel to Bali if you had booked and paid for the trip. One of my friends is having this dilemma, and she will be travelling early December. What would be your reasons to go or not to go considering the global terrorist threats?

Re: Would you go to Bali?

Pass thanks.

My idea of a slumming it on holidays is to stay in a 3.5 star hotel.

Why would I go to a place that's dirty & smell and has lately added the bonus of a number of fanatics who would like nothing better than to kill westerners...

(I could also just save a lot of money and go to Bankstown and get the same results...)

Re: Would you go to Bali?

I disagree with the above and would go back in a instant. Thats a very simple minded view JR. I have been a total of 8 times and 3 times since the bomb 2 years ago. The place has never been better and the tourist numbers are back up to the levels they were before the bombing. You have more chance of getting killed in a car accident over here than you do by going to Bali and thats a fact!

People from Perth (Such as me) have more of a passion for Bali compared to you eastern staters as it is only 3 hours away from us as opposed to 6 or 7 for you guys. We can get packages in say a 4 or 5 star hotel for around about 7 days for $800-900. It is actually cheaper for West Aussies to go to Bali than to Sydney/Melbourne. We can get airfares for around $400 return excluding accomodation to Bali. There is 3 airlines flying to Bali from Perth so alot of competition.

Dont kncok it until you try it. I Used to and then I went and love the place.

I always go in July for 10 days when its freezing cold here. I catch the 8am flight and by 11am you are flying over the 1000's of indonesian islands and arrive at Bali in approximately 30degrees of tropical heat. Beautifull.

Cheers

Tim
