Noticed today on one of the news websites that they said the BA is gettting the V6 motor, then in todays local paper the heading is "Ford scares Holden with classy V6"...reading through the article it says that the I6 is going to be replaced with a V6!

Since when? Have I had my head stuck in the sand or are these guys full of

Im getting a little worried thats all - I love the I6's and was looking forward to the twin cam

I don't think the newspapers have a clue, half of them were still calling the BA the AY/AV on the day it was released so I wouldn't think they know a hell of a lot more than what we do...

The media also said that the base BA will start at around $35K. That's a bit too much to stay competitive in the market. Maybe $32K is more like it.

Don't forget, most 6 cyl engines are V6s, so perhaps they are forgetting the Falcon engine is I6. It's classy now, with it's new head. :s3

I dont think majority of journos have a clue about whats coming in terms of engines. Why? I have read a number of times that the base 8 {Forte not XR8} will put out 240kw and XR6 will have a Turbo Dohc I6 with 210-215kw. As if that would happen in a million years.

If you option up a Commodore Exec with air, auto, power window and 4 airbags, it would be getting close to 35K

People don't write off V6's completely - ever heard of the Ralliart Magna/Diamante?

Though I think it is safe to say that the BA will still keep the I6.
