Wulos gets a "NEW" Camera

That's right I got myself a nice shiny new camera, It's 1st outing was the Oran Park V8 Supercar round last sunday. So no doubt over the next coupla weeks it will be getting a HELL of a workout(I've already got it's near future all planned out, sydney holden ford show on this weekend)
The old camera will undoubtably still be providing some quality pics on fordforums here though.
Let me know what you think (try not to be tooo harsh as it was my 1st day out with this camera remember)

No doubt a demonstratably very capable camera, but you spared us the details of what camera you got.

The man speaketh the truth! This thread is worthless without camera name, model and specifications!

I'd love to get myself a Nikon D70 but alas, financial constraints have put the kybosh on that idea...

Re: Wulos gets a "NEW" Camera

DOH!!!! I KNEW I fergot something...
Camera is a Sony 828, anyone that knows me knows that I've had more then a little success with the sony cybershot range of cameras.
tis an 8.0 megapixel(full res shots come out at 3264x2448pixels) most of the pro cameras are 6-7mpix, with a 7x optical lens. it can capture video @ 640x480 resolution(3min.50sec at max quality for a 256mb stick.
For memory you can use traditional memory sticks. or you can also use compact flash microdrives(as used in the top of the range Canon Eos digital camera's - so 1-4gb of memory is quite cost effective)
The 828 uses a new type of 4 colour ccd for image capture which gives better colour definition then all other camera's out there - including most of the pro units(these use CMOS sensor) I guess you could say I've done more then a little research before buying it, though I daresay that the next camera on my agenda will without doubt be a full pro model(most likely cannon EOS as I already have a couple of lens thatd suit)
Sounds weird talking about replacement camera considering I haven't even taken 1000 photo's with this one as yet(aaah well will have done that by this time next week I'll wager)

Re: Wulos gets a "NEW" Camera

Hope you don't get much chromatic aberration with the 828!

Very nice camera though. Wouldn't mind one myself, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the D70!

Re: Wulos gets a "NEW" Camera

how does the 828 compare to the F717 (appart from the number of pixels)
and go for the D100 Nikon boy! - you would spend a lot more on lenses to worry about the price difference between the two - if you were serious :-)
