I used to own an XE ESP Ghia, only a six though. At the time i had mine Ford didnt make anymore V8s so the last of the V8s (as they were called at the time) were very expensive, around 20k +. Dont know what they fetch nowdays. Bluddy nice car it was, point and go handling, i loved it till someone stole it. I guess they loved it more than i did.
I Built an XE 351 wagon about 10 years ago.
Spent a fair bit of time and money on it.
The engine was based on an XB 302 block.
Currently have an XD 'LTD black block' 351 just waiting to be inserted into it's new Ute home.
Don't think there was too much difference, if any between XD and XE Cleveland V8's. (RIP)
I reckon you'd be very lucky to find an original, unmodified one in any shape or form now.
Street Machine magazine killed an original XE ESP 351, 4 speed sedan some years ago.
Sad part about it all is that there were only ever 178 351 V8, 4 speed equiped ESP Ghia's made.
Now THAT'S rare.........
Ed :)

My XF 3 on the tree ute is ALWAYS stuck in third......
I saw one with XD bonnet, XE Ghia headlights, XD grille (cut to fit), XE blinkers & guards, XD tail-lights. I liked it ('couse it had a shaker on it) but thought it was unusual. Can't tell you whether it was a XD or XE though. :) I don't think I'll ever see one like that.

You could always look under the bum - XE had the Watt's linkage and coils where the XD had leaf springs...
As for the V8s, there were a few other than the ESPs - 5 people had ordered 351 XE S-Packs before the release (and announcement of the demise of the V8), and Ford were obliged to build those, plus there were a few outstanding Police orders that were filled (those were GLs, of course). But the ESP is the pick, of course.
