I went to Southbank today (Sunday) equipt with a digi camera!!
Goshhhhh the XR6 (naturally aspirated) is GORGEOUS. Anyone who sees one in real life would consider upgrading their cars!!! Like people have described in other posts... it was displayed in the back of a truck. u walk up the stairs and enter the viewing area (roped off of course). All you can see is the front.. the sides are visible by mirrors(frosted almost)... the rear is not visible at all. Interior out of the question.

We stood around for a while, talking to the beauti's behind the desk. I told her about some rumours.... including this one...

"i heard theres going to be an XR8 high output (Boss)??? Is that true?? Possibly a turbo'ed V8 they are saying"
"well there is a ute coming out..... i cant reveal anything.. you'll just have to wait and see" :)

Looks like BadGuy could be correct in saying there is a HIGH OUTPUT ute coming out... 5.4litre Turbo ~ 350kw!!!!!

Anyways i might add that i've been (along with BadGuy and EvsGhia) in a ride in a barra futura. 4 people in the car and all it wanted to do was PULL away!!!! Im very impressed with the interior quality (yes it was a futura and it was 10 times better than my EF fairmont trim) and even moreso the ride quality was extraordinarily smooth. You don't feel any bumps whatso ever.. its like your floating on air to some degree. Speed humps were a breeze! The Smoothest car i've ever been in!

Crikey, That XR looks absolutely awesome!!!! I am ALMOST tempted to trade in the XW and coming from me that is VERY RARE!!!! My my, hasn't Ford come along way with the XR's. If these don't sell like hot cakes I don't know what will. A JOB WELL DONE FORD, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

It was much the same at Skilled Stadium (kardinia Park) on saturday at the Geelong /Brisbane game.
I dont know if its planned that way, but it all seem too clinical(?). Dudes in white dust coats asking if you want a look inside.
Even though the container has a big sign saying "www.newfalcon.com.au" on the sides, I dont think the average "joe" off the street really realised that there was something possibily interesting inside.
Maybe some flags or balloons and DEFINATELY some music and V8 (or turbo I6) engine noises, playing would make the experience a little more memorable and attract more people inside.
Just my thoughts!
