interesting read here, I'm still having a struggle trying to get it through. But according to ATo ruling MT2024 it is allowing even if load capacity is under 1 tonne.

That's just for dual cabs. There's a separate ruling which I use and it allows FBT exemption for XR and Pursuit.

Ford have actually published a list (in a spreadsheet somewhere) which lists cars applicable to MT2024.

I have it at work if anyone wants a copy.

Yes the list was updated in March 2000 (and not since). But the list is published on the ATO website. Commodore and Falcon based utes are ok.

I'd have to look up mine again. I have it ready for any audits but that was a key reason I chose the ute this time around.

What amazes me is the ATO still publishes the one tonne rule on the public areas of the website and it's up to you to do the research and track down the truth.

shhhhhh better keep quiet i'm sure they don't want us to know about it.. Ford obviously aware of it with the spreadsheet that they publish. Must make the Pursuit ute a good buy also, and no lct on a commercial vehicle?

You do have to be using it for business purposes though right? Where a comercial vehicle is justified not just as a passenger car substitute.

How many use a Pursuit as a tradies ute?
