A Ford Sales guy is telling me that the XR8 will go up by 2% in February.

Can anyone else tell me if this is the case?

That's a bit silly... out for well under a month and a price rise?? If this is indeed true, I think someone at Ford HQ needs a good slappin...

What I'm thinking is that this is just another stupid Sales pressure tactic, and if someone here can confirm or deny it I can go in there and play his game.

I've been told that the price rise in Feb of 2% is "across the board". Agree it would rough on the XR8 but it wouldn't surprise me as I heard about this increase only 6 weeks or so after the BA was released.

I was told by 2 dealers in qld that it was actually 3%.

I think this is the 2% that was supposed to kick in Jan1 for all Fords but has been pushed back a month for some reason. My local dealer told me to expect another 2% mid year as well.

Holdens price rise is only for the Rodeo and Monaro I think.

Was told the same thing when ordering my XR8. On some vehicles it was applied on the 1st. of Jan, but not the Falcon range. Saleman told me it would more than likely happen in Feb.
Also said that on the Focus for example, the rise was supposed to be 2%, but only ended up being 1.3%. So who knows.
Seeing that Commodore prices didn't go up with the some of the Holden range in Jan, maybe this is what Ford is countering?

Simple, the price rise that was due for january has been put forward by a month to save a lot of tears by people that have been waiting for a couple of months. The Febuary price rise is fair cause anyone with febuary car probably placed their order knowing about the 2% price rise.
