Bloke who is a subbie truck driver has a Vy ss ute and well being the old fart he is hates fords and rekons his ss ute will waste my Ba xr8 once i get it. Hes willing to put $100 on it but thats it. I drove a fine manual example of a ba xr8 today and **** they move. Only thing i didnt like was the diff WHINE. How would a manual xr8 go against a auto ss ute. Presuming both are stock. I only went in to have a look and walked away with a ear to ear grin, sales dude needs new undies.

You will get raped. For all its 260kW and 500Nm, the BA XR8 is pig heavy and geared like crap. I'd rather a BA XR8 to a VYII GTS300 though, but I'll admit, Holden rape Ford performance wise at the moment. You better hope your are Victor Bray, or that he just can't drive period. You'll have the last laugh though. When his SS is using 18L/100km petrol and 1L/100km oil.. and your BA is using less petrol and no oil.. and isn't suffering piston slap, shudders on cold starts, poorly built transmissions and so on. All the 13.8sec stock 1/4 mile times in the world won't change the fact that the SS is built like poo and the XR8 isn't.
18L per 100km.... Our 245kw Caprice doesnt even get that on average when its pulling the horse float! Oh i forgot, you are allowed to exaggerate the figures...:-)
