"Queensland company, Modicoat, based at bayside Cleaveland, south of Brisbane, is responsible for the interior and exterior carbon-fibre work on the XR8"
This was taken from the CAR 2002 section in wednesdays The Courier Mail. So boys we dont have to worry about the XR8 topping 1800kg's because the boys at ford knew we wanted fast 1/4 times and have lightened the car to help. The paper did not release any weights for the XR8 but we do already know the weights on the other models.
They have said the XR8 will be no more than 52,000. Honestly, i reckon it will be priced at 51,000. But who cares really, because all i know, is that the XR8 is going to eat holdens for breakfast.

Carbon Fibre you say, any chance of the XR8 coming out standard with a 900hp 3litre V10 with sequential 7 speed gearbox and a brake bias controller. :s6: :s6: :s2:
Under 1800kg is light to you, so it will be 1750 kg like everybody thought. Not lightweight as far as i am concerned. Remeber the courier mail also stated that the VY v6 would have 190kw.

Ummmm no... 1750 is for the XT v8. The XR8 will have very few weight additions in terms of standart appointments and therefore with the carbon-fibre will be significantly less than the base v8.
