I was able to get my youngest a 2nd hand & not very new XR80 motor bike for Chrissy.

It went like a demon yesterday (Xmas Day)....but today its not starting & when it does it splutters & then stalls.

I have covered the easy ones like yes it does have fuel in it .........

I'm thinking maybe a fuel blockage but I have no idea how or where the lines are or how the carbi is set up........give me a car any day

Any one out there who may be able to help me quickly .......

I have a not very happy 8yr old here.

Check spark plug, spark plug lead and reserve fuel tank switch/valve. Used to have an old one that did the same to me.

Eldest is just checking that now ........

Also are these things easy to flood...... The boys have been trying to get her started for ages & they whinge when I tell them it will flood & to give it a break...........

easier to push start it if flooded lisa.
If it has a decompression lever hold it in, open the throttle fully & kick it over 4-5 quick times.
then just start as usual, worked everytime on my 630 kitted RN model

OK guys .....thanks for all that .......you know that question about does it have fuel..............I believed them when they said it did..........

Mental note ......always check yourself.....not after hours of asking ......After I checked it has bugger all in it .....only a little on both sides of the buldge thinggy in the tank ........

Tis amazing how well the bikes running now with fuel in it
