Relative wage rates would suggest that you'd need to apply a multiplication factor of around 8 to put those in todays dollars.
We've come a long way from the Falcon Standard of 1976 to the XT of today and in real terms for less money.
The 1976 version lacked things like power windows, radio, rear window demister, reclining buckets, air-con, 4 wheel discs, decent tyres, power steer, cloth trim, a clock, tinted laminated screen and tinted glass - all of which are standard now.
As for the other things we now take for granted like ABS, airbags, EBD and an IRS - these were only dreams back then.

Yeh - less than $100 difference between the 4 door and the 2 door. Multiply by 8 and that's an $800 option. No chance in hell of getting that with an XT! More like a $30,000 after market option. Times have changed!
