I work in the gaming industry in Queensland and although I can say the industry is QOGR regulated and people
do win money on pokies, I also must say that there is little appeal for me seeing the actual source of gaming income. What is "Responsible Gambling" meant to mean anyway? Where do you draw the line? Anyway what I would say to you is $40 is a cheap lesson. When I make mistakes that cost me money, I consider the situation to have been a purchase of knowledge. A lesson paid for and learnt. Nothing is free after all, especially experience. It seems more worthwhile when viewed in that light.
How about this... I've been keeping a record of fuel costs over the last month and just now I've tallied it up. Now I live 3 minutes from work by car so keep that in mind. On average I spend $8.40 a day on fuel, that's $58.80 or almost $3,100 per year in petrol alone. To hell with that.
Petrol companies, to you,
There is always a tomorrow. Work out a budget that accommodates hidden XD related nasties and you'll be happy that you're within your means.
