You realise of course that we have to thank Holden for how good the Barra Falcon is?

I mean, if it wasn't for the intense and sometimes brutal competition between Holden and Ford, and the fact that holden have had the lead in the car sales for the last few years, Ford would not have had the impetus, desire or need to design such a fantastic car as the Barra Falcon.

This is competition working at its finest ...

I hear eveyone going almost going open slather at Holden and how they will be left way behind with the latest Falcon...but folks, do we really need to act as savages calling for Holden's blood?

Do you remember how we felt when Ford sales were at an abysmal low and Holden were gloating? It wasn't a nice feeling.

Please, let us be gentlemen about this....and keep the competition clean and healthy.

I’m not sure I am about to publicly thank Holden for such a wonderful new Ford Falcon. I am, however happy to say that its competition that breeds product development. If it were a one-horse race we would all be still driving around in Model T's that cost $60000 to buy.

After the EL, one has to wonder what the motives really were of the Boss of Ford HQ of the time (jack Nasser) when they released the AU. Ugly design, mostly unchanged drive train and quality concerns right from the word go.

We now have a new style of leadership (Does that sound like a Labor add campaign) with Geoff Polites who isn’t here for the sole purpose of downsizing the company, but to release a product that is simply better than the competitions'.

If that has to do in part of Holden then yes I acknowledge that, but it also has to do in part of Toyota, Mitsubishi, BMW and all the other carmakers out there who are giving us fresh designs and concepts. Ford have taken some of the best ideas from a huge variety of makes and models and brought them together in a uniquely Australian way. The BA Falcon.

actually I agree with XR8 couple.... if the VT/VX hadn't dome so well then I don't think we would have got the barra ... yet
