confused 1986 Bronco II stalls after heating up.

I just bought a 86 Bronco II and it stalls after heating up like its out of gas. I know its not the vacum, air filter, and I highly dought that it has anything to do with gas but i can't figure out what else it could be. After it sets for awhile the Bronco II will start right up like nothings wrong. Do you know anything else it could be?

mad Re: 1986 Bronco II stalls after heating up.

Have the same truck.. just started having the same problem. Checked the fuel filter and it's good. Fuel pressure is good (not the pump, I'm guessin). Only thing left I can think of is the Ignition Module (on distrubutor). I'm goin to get one sometime this week and see if that fixes the problem. Will reply when I have something new to share.

Exclamation Re: 1986 Bronco II stalls after heating up.

I was mistaken, the inline pump is good.. but the in-tank pump is bad. I blew in the hose and heard the tank gurgle, so it's not clogged, but not pumping. I am replacing it tomorrow after work. I read that someone had a similar problem caused by corrosion and bad connection in the wiring. If the pump doesn't fix the problem then I will make sure the wires aren't corroded or grounding out somewhere.
Other than that, I can only think to replace the ignition module.

[font=Verdana][size=7][color=Red][center]After replacing the pump, I have had no trouble out of my BII other than replacing a faulty gasket on the fuel rail. I replaced the intank pump after checking the inline pump and finding it to work properly. The intank pumps at 8-10 psi while the inline boosts psi to 70-80 to keep pressure at the fuel rail. There is an extreme difference in price between the two pumps as well. Intank runs 39 to 49 dollars while the inline runs more toward 135 dollars. Be sure to find the faulty one before you purchase a replacement, unless you can aford both.
