4 wheel drive does not engage - Ford Forums

Can anyone suggest some common reasons why the electronic 4 wheel dirive does not engage on my 96 FS bronco. The 4x4 light comes on, I hear a clunk, but it does not engage.

I have a 1993, but my brother-in-laws has the auto hubs. His had a problem, and the simpler solution was to change it out to manual hubs, as the the repair would cost more than the kit to change it back to manual hubs.
