I have a 1988 bronco 2 with a 2.9l engine that has no spark. It was running the other day and I decided to check the timing(it was off). When I put the light on it and put my hand on the distributer to adjust the timing the thing just died now it will not start and has no spark. I had the ignition module checked and it is good. new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and coil. Still the same. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks---Tom

I have found out that there is not any power to the distributor. The fuse panel has a fuse marked ecc relay. Does anyone know if this could be the problem? Or how about it's location?

that's an e.e.c. relay

just for your information and hopefully this will help somebody. The wiring harness from the distributor to the main harness has a bad connector plug. The plug that goes into the distributor is faulty and not making a proper connection to the ignition module. Problem solved!
