bad klunkin noise - Ford Forums

I have an 88 full size Bronco. Recently it started to klunk. It seems to be off and on but mostly on. It sounds like it is comin from right under my door and a little forward. I was told it could be my driveshaft. Any other suggestions?

Alright so I'm new to this. I realize I didn't give yall anything to work with. It klunks while driving down the road at any speed. Sometimes it it squeaks also. Maybe this will help some.

Does it clunk when going over bumpy roads? If so, it's probably the radius arm bushings. They're easy to replace and are usually the culprit. Crawl under your Bronco and follow the radius arm back to where it's mounted to the frame rail. Visually inspect the bushings for cracks and slop. If the bushings on either sides look worn, replace them.

It was the driveshaft. There was something broken in the U Joint or sumthin like that. Thanx though.

So the sound was in the rear, not in the front. That's why it's tough to diagnose problems over the net!!

Glad you got it fixed and got her back on the road.
