Body vibration??

Am noticing that I have a lot of vibration on the truck when driving over 45. I am trying to figure out where it would be coming from. Its not the drive shaft/u joints. It has vibrated so much that I had my exaust welds brake off and also my dash has now broke completely at the defrost vent. Anyone got one and any ideas. Thanks

Surely to goodness with it shaking that badly you've got some idea of it's origin! Front,Rear, Left, Right?? Give us something to work with.

OK, I figured I would get a general response, not the one lookin for, but I can work with it.... I notice at higher speeds, 45 and up, that the WHOLE body shakes. From hood to rear glass. I checked body mounts, those are tight.I noticed the drag link or whatever its called on the late Broncos is loose. I was told that will cause your tires to kick out but thats a new one on me. I have no shakes in the steering, the infamous Bronco Death Shake. So thus why I was so general. Thanks again
92 if your still on, your familiar with this beast so any inpute you can through it would be appreciated...

Hi, I finally made it back home and am back online.

Anyway, minor vibrations are so hard to track down but one as severe as you're describing shouldn't be that hard to find. You said it wasn't the driveshaft, but that would be my first guess. How did you come to the conclusion that it's not the d-shaft? I would guess the u-joints are on their way out and need to be replaced. The driveshaft may also be out of balance or was not reinstalled in its original position when removed. It's always best to mark both flanges to be sure you get it back in the same place.

Have you done any offroading in the mud? Even a little but of mud on the inside of one of the wheels will vibrate enough to make you think the car is falling apart. Trust me on that one.

The best thing I can tell you to do is just use the process of elimination to try and locate the problem. But be sure to start with the cheap parts first!!
