I just joined this forum a couple of days ago in hopes of finding some info on the same subject. I just bought a 1986 Plus for $1500.00. I live in Maine and also have never seen one like it.
I contacted the Ford Company and they are sending me some literature about the Bronco II Plus.
The owner's manual did come with the truck when I bought it so I was able to learn a lot about it that way. Mine is an '86 and the Ford Company was able to tell me that they only made 119,564 of the 4x4's and only 25 of the 4x2's that year. If you can buy one for $500.00 and fix it up, you just might have something that will be worth something down the road.
Ford also gave me this info if you want to get more info.
