Bronco Engine help

I have a 1988 Bronco Push-Button 4wd and whenever i start it up and put it in gear once i get up past a certain rpm there is a loud clicking sound...its not very very fast but its pretty click maybe 1 a second or so...i have checked all the motor mounts and they are all good...i also looked doen in the transmission pan and changed the transmission filter and fluid but it still clicks...doesnt matter if it is forward or reverse once it gets past a certain rps it will start clicking...it does not make the sound in neutral but it will make the sound if i hold the brake and rev it up...any ideas?

tuff one to offer even a guess from here.
Since it will click in neutral (assuming you mean the tranny is IN Neutral) with brakes applied - have someone with a length of garden hose or cardboard tubing as in a gift wrap listen for the click in various places... figure on valve cover area first, then timing cover..watch for fan!
Torque Converter area is next and so on.
(and apply emerg. brakes and wheel chocks for safety)

Re: Bronco Engine help

it will not click in neutral...the clicking only happens while the vehicle is in gear...u can rev it all day in neutral and it wont click...and i have been trying to check for the clicking by listening but i cant hear one location...i will try the garden hose idea tho

ok, now i can guess better
I'm thinking of 4 possibilities as guesses;
rotors could be warped

Is it a metallic click or is it detonation due to timing change, etc.?

fan is hitting shroud, due to broken/loose motor mount (was a chevy V8 problem for years) or bent blade, etc.
torque converter bolts are loose - here they are; courtesy of stang':
