The latch on my center console just broke. I am looking for information on replacement latches and how to move the core of the old lock over so I can use the same key. Anybody know anything about this? It's an '86 Bronco.
I think that having the lock tumblers turned to fit your door lock key may not be economical. The Ford parts dealer will sell you a lock and key set for about $25.00 new. This makes it seem more economical to just carry three keys. To get the tumblers of a similiar lock done may cost 30 to 40 dollars. :s1
I have an 86 Bronco with the same console. My advice to you is to trash the whole thing, go to a junk yard and get a newer model year console that can hold a drink cup without dumping it all over the place. Whoever designed the colsole must have been on drugs.
