Like most of You on here I've had my share of the infamous Ford power steering noise. This may be a well know fix but it's new to me, so I wanted to share.
My 96 Bronco calls for type F ATF in the P.S. pump, I've replaced the pump and hoses but had the same loud "whining" noise. This time instead of using the same old store brand type F that is usually the only one you can find at a regular parts store, I went down the performance aisle and found B&M Trickshift (original, not synthetic) it says it meets or exceeds type F. so I flushed out all the old fluid real good and replaced it with Trickshift, blead the system and now I have a completely silent P.S. system, even with 35x 12.50's and slow speed turns.
Just wanted to share.
