Highbeams work, but regular lights dont

Hello, i just bought a 1988 ford bronco 2. When i go to turn the head lights on, they dont work, but the highbeams work when i put them on. Whats the problem and what should i do?

check your filaments, and then the fuses. its not unheard of to have two blown low beam filaments.

If the problem began on both lights at the same time, I think this to be an electrical problem, not bulbs-- though both could burn out. If you can get a wiring diagram check to see if the low beams have a separate ground from the high beams. Also, the multi-function switch is a common culprit for this sort of problem; but I'm not sure if the bronco II had these or not.

The '88 doesn't use a MFS, and there's 1 ground for each bulb. Either both low filaments are burned out, or the beam-select switch (on the floor) is bad, or the wiring from the switch to the headlights.
