Re: Ignition shut off switch/ kill switch
Ok here is what the issue was...
The actuating rod in the ignition was worn out so it was not hitting the ignition switch to start it.
We installed an ignition kill switch. Here is what we did. We ran two 12 gage 12 ft wires (bought at auto zone) from the solenoid. one wire off the S terminal and one wire off the postive terminal. we have them running into the cab and bought a push starter switch(from autozone). We took the actuating rod completley off the ignition switch. We then installed another switch that is hiding. From the ignition switch there is a green and red wire. That wire controls all of the power once the key is turned on. We cut that wire in two, spliced it added a little bit more wire to both ends (12 gauge wire) and then installed the switch. This switch is a on and off switch (purchased at radio shack). It is hidden so that no body can find it but us. with out that switch you can not start the vehicle!
So when you turn the key nothing happens. You have to hit the first switch to get the electricity turned on. Then you hit the push switch which starts the vehicle!
Hope this helps any one interested!!
