confused

It seems like it is leaking from the vavlve cover gasgket, but ut seems also as if it is lower then that. I am pretty sure the gagsket needs replaces ,, but i think theres is two leaks. the drip of oil comes down just a litle bit in front of the transmission

Oil leaks are tough to track down when they've been leaking for a while. Go out and buy yourself a couple of cans of degreaser and clean it up real well so you can actually figure out where the leak is coming from and go from there.

Before you go into anything costly and time consuming, try checking the oil filter first. I had the same problem once and a mechanic told me my rear main seal was gone. Ouch !!!!
Oil was all over the tranny and engine. Then I looked under there and found I could tighten the oil filter by hand. I changed the oil ( what was left of it ) and replaced the filter. That cured all my problems and save me a bunch of cash that didn't need to go into the mechanic's pocket.

oil filter wasn't tight, but......

i found that when i chage the oil my leak got worse, for somereason the oil filter wasn't on tight enoiugh... mind you i am the king of torque, i breeak tools to often.... but sure enough. As to the reast of the leak iam pretty sure it is the vavle cover gaskets... lots of fun really... now i see why people hire people to do the work!!!
thanx to all... now if i could just fix my other problem i will be goo to go
