NP 435 teardown

Hello all,

Tearing down a NP435 and I want to remove the shift rail for 1st/2nd gear. I found a PDF that says the shift forks are held in place with a spiral pin and it has to come out with a screw extractor/ez out. How does one go about replacing these spiral pins? Can they be re-used or is it a single use only?

The end goal is to be able to grind the 1st gear detent a bit deeper to help keep it from popping out of gear. I cannot seem to get the rail turned enough to grind on it without removal.

Any help is appreaciated.

Thanks
