Exclamation oil question

what up y'all

thinking about running royal purple synth in my truck(92 bronco xlt 351 windsor).I have always run valvoline conventional 10w 30 before.as far as i know, it has always had conventional motor oil in it.my question is,can switching to a synthetic oil cause problems?(i.e. leaks)from the detergents in the oil cleaning parts that have accquired build up,ultimatley causing leaks.i have heard this, but dont know if it is true or not.any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Re: oil question

The only thing I can say is to try it and see what happens. I have heard good and bad about switching to synthetics on ANY type engine, but never experienced any problems with my lawnmower. my 1971 Dodge Demon, my 1995 Chevy truck, my 1993 Chevy van, or anything else I owned (sorry, no Fords) when switching to synthetic.
