S.O.S From Costa Rica

I have an 89 Bronco II 2.9.
The problem is that every time I put it on first gear to start moving, there is a "counter explosion" that comes out from the air filter box. My car losses power and starts to jerk. It stops and starts to run smooth as I step on the gas and switch gears, (it also happens when I switch between gears from time to time)
I also have tried to fine tune it as best as I can, but no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to leave it out right.
Please help

Re: S.O.S From Costa Rica

Guess my reply was totally ignored?

well, here is the timing info
http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pub...EN/CKL2901.htm

read it! it is same as the Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI), PUK (49 States) Decal under the hood
you can searh again in case your Calibration # is diff from above.
http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdi...l&type=EEFACTS
Warm up engine,
turn eng off
disconnect Spout connector
adjust timing to 10 deg. before top dead center
turn eng off
re-connect Spout connector,

then CHECK FOR CODES

Re: S.O.S From Costa Rica

Thanx so much for your help, this info certainly helped me alot.
My car is running so smooth now that I'll be taking it out this weekend on a cruise in of Costa Ricas many exciting tropical forest roads.
I'll post a pic of a monkey and a Tucan if I see one....
