Re: Troubleshooting Help.....88 Bronco, no fuel to engine!
The inertia switch will be behind the passenger side kick panel (the plastic to the right of your feet if you're seated in the passenger seat). A defective inertia switch will cause the fuel pumps to not run so that would be a good place to start. I believe '88 was the last year they had a low pressure pump in the tank and a high pressure pump on the frame rail near the drivers side door.
To check the pumps, locate the diagnostic link connector. It's a trapezoidal shaped plug with 4 pins and will be near the main fuse box under the hood. See the attached image. To check the pumps, short the fuel pump test terminal to ground while the key is in the off position. Doing so will bypass the inertia switch, relay, etc. to check the operation of the pumps. Once the fuel pump test terminal has been shorted to a ground, turn the key on and listen for the pumps. If the pumps run, you have a wiring problem, a faulty inertia switch, or a bad relay. If the pumps do not run, you'll need to check if the pumps are getting voltage during the fuel pump test. Just post back if you get that far and I'll type up the details regarding which wires to probe to check for battery voltage at the pumps.
Good luck!
