What size rear end is in the 86' Bronco?

First night on the forum and first post so here it goes. Hope this isn't a repeat question but the "has this question been asked already" button was broken. Anyway, just bought an 86' and it has a 460 in it with 4:11 gears. I NEED to swap those out to something around a 3:27 or 3:55 but I have no idea what size rear end I have. By some reading I would guess it's 8.8 but I need to be sure before I go ordering anything from Summit. Thanks in advance for any help.

It should be an 8.8 if it is stock.

could be a 9" if its a american big block bronco , best to get some numbers of the original center, i have most ratios in stock of 9" motive sets

here how to find out. at least on my 87 it is it should be the same. if you have to open the diff and pull the c clips to take the axle out its a 8.8" if the axles unbolt and slide out by the hubs its a 9". so look at the hub to see it it comes out there toknow

Why do you need a lower axle ratio? 4:10 is a good ratio!
