It looks easy, but warrying if there are special things need to be cared about, such as fuel pressure relief, battery cable disconnection. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Hello and good day:

May I ask, are you referring to the Fuel Filter replacement?

If so it's pretty straightforward...Just a couple of Wrenches and a small Flat Head Screwdriver.

Is this a 24V Duratec Engine? if so there is a Pressure Relief Value on the top of the Fuel Rail.

I would advise to buy a Hanyes or Chilton Manual to assist.

1. Disconnect the Negative Ground post from the Battery.
2. Relieve the Fuel Pressure at the Valve.
3. Jack up the Rear Passenger side, and support with Jack stand. Being care full to support the car. Also I would advise to Chuck the Front/Rear tires for additional safety.
4. Under the Car...on the Rear Passenger side you will see the Fuel Filter.
5. Put a small Bucket under the Filter...to catch the fuel.
6. First push the two quick plastic connector together at the same time...pulling the Filter one way and the connector line the other.
7. I use a small open end Wrench, and a Pair of Pliers to take the Fuel Filter off.
8. Replace the Filter in the Reverse order.
9. Reconnect the Neg Battery cable.

Now your good to go.

Thanks a lot, but not the fuel filter. The gas tank filler neck, between the hole(covered by the cap) and the tank.

I am sorry! I thought you were referring to the Filter itself.

So The Elbow from the Tank to the Fuel nozzle opening needs to be replaced?

This will be a somewhat detail job, and the Removal of the Tank itself. If you need additional help the guys and I can run you through the process.

From the shop manual.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. If the fuel tank is full, drain the fuel tank until the fuel level is at or below half a tank.
3. Remove the filler neck screws.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.
5. Remove the fuel tank filler pipe hoses. 1 Loosen the hose clamps. 2 Disconnect the hoses from the filler pipes.
6. Remove the filler pipe assembly. 1 Remove the filler tube bolt.2 Remove the filler pipe.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
