01 sable heater and A/C

My ac was not working, i checked the low pressure side and was reading 45 psi and the clutch engages and disengages no problem. Since winter was coming I was not going to worry about it but now that its cold tried to turn on heater and no warm air, just cool air. plenty of coolant in tank. Is there something in the electronic climate controls that could prevent both systems from working?

Re: 01 sable heater and A/C

ok so I did this test and it came back with 25 and 51. The doors shut very loudly when i did this. I also noticed the a/c compressor clutch was engaging and disengaging in 5 sec intervals. What do these codes mean?

Re: 01 sable heater and A/C

Thanks for all the info, I for sure heard the blend doors open or close with a loud "whack" when i did the self test. Also can I get to the solar sensor w/o removing the who dash, maybe through the glove box?

Re: 01 sable heater and A/C

The solar sensor is in the top center if the dash. That panel pops out and you unplug solar sensor.

So I can get it from the top of the dash or do I need to get it from below?

Re: 01 sable heater and A/C

Have you checked to see if both heater hoses are hot? Could have a clogged heater core.

The top. It's a little black ball on top center of dash. The whole panel pops off the top of the dash.
