I just bought an 04 Ford Taurus with less than 60K in miles on it. Beautiful Car. But I am already having some problems with it. It is going into the dealer on Monday but I wanted to see if there were any ideas of what the issue may be here.

I noticed the engine started to make a tick/twitter sound two days ago. Yesterday that sound stopped and now it making a gurgling sound, almost like an old inkjet printer.

The gas pedal vibrates when you're driving it. The RPM needle started flexing while it was in park and when I went to start it after work yesterday it took a bit to turn over.

It was just repaired for a small oil leak that wasn't keeping the oil pressure up enough and it had a vacuum leak repaired as well.

Any ideas?

Hello and good day:

You said you just bought this car?? Why can't you take back to the dealer, and have them look at it??

The Gurgling sound is usually do to Anti Freeze going back into the Radiator and back to the Reservoir.

Have you looked at the Fluid Level?? Check your Anti Freeze level in your reservoir.

It is going back to the dealer on Monday to be looked at. I wanted to get opinion on what I could expect them to say in case it isn't covered under the service contract.

I'll check the fluid level. I never had an engine that gurged while it was running.

Any ideas on the other issues mentioned?

Where do you hear this sound on the engine?? Right or left of the engine facing the engine.

If I am looking into the engine under the hood, the sound is on the left side of the car.

The Water Pump is on the Left side. Do you see were the Belt (serpentine belt) goes around the Alternator, and the A/C Compressor unit??

Down below that is where the Water Pump is, Does it sound close to that location??? The Pump will be Costly to replace. Not so much for the Part but for the Labor involved

I think since he just bought it, the dealer will make it right. Most Ford dealers have some kind of (short) warranty on most of their nicer used cars.

I'll let you know what is it when my husband brings it back from the dealer tomorrow. Unfortunately it isn't a Ford dealer but they have a Ford mechanic there with 23 years experience. Hopefully this will be the last trip in for the car for a long time.
