where is the trans dipstick located on a 1989 ford taurus sho.

Its located low in the drivers side of the engine compartment near the firewall, Should be a black or yellow dipstick.

Not on an 1989 SHO. The fill plug is on the front side of the trans., it is a 3/8 sqaure drive hole, fill to the bottom edge of hole. May be more accesable from under vehicle.

thanks just bought it. the only thing wrong with it is it needs a rad which means have to unhook the trans line to the trans cooler and if and probley will lose fluid i wanted to know where to fill it at. thanks agian

Hold it!!! An 89 SHO is a stick shift. There is no trans cooler lines to mess with.

ok so all i need to do is unhook the hoses the fan the the rad right

The lower hose if it needs replaced can be hard to find. The NAPA # 7311 will work.
