i replaced the belt 3 months ago on my taurus. yesterday, it broke again. so i put a new one on. today, i was driving home and it broke again. i can only emagine one of my pulley's is gone. i think its the water pump, but i really don't know how to check. does anyone know how to figure out whats going on.

With the belt off, the pulleys should turn freely by hand and not sound dry. Also should not have any free play in them. Check for nicks or damage to the pulley's

Make sure the automatic tensioner is not binding (not just the pulley, the tensioning action).

i can wiggle the water pump pulley back and forth a little bit. i think thats going to be the problem.
