I am working on my sister in laws baby sisters new car. It just threw a code. I was woundering what obd the car is and also if there is any way to check codes without a scanner. It seems like the previous owner riced it out a little bit.

My second question is where could i locate a ford manual for it. For my car its called the BGB not sure what Ford has it named. Thats basically all i am looking for thanks in advance.

1996 Taurus would have an OBDII diag connector. You can usually get a free scan at a parts store, then you can post the code here for help.

Chilton would have a manual for you.
