17yo son hit curb. Car started at sight for me to load on car dolly. got home would not start, thought it was out of gas. Replaced A-arm ,inner tie rod,and wheel. added gas still would not start. Checked fuel shut off in trunk, not activated. checked anti theft by unlocking car door with remote and key. Pulled spark plug has spark. please help!

Thanks for doing the job you do. Can be very dangerous at times. My grand daughter lives in Portland and own the Tea Chai Te on NW 23rd.

I forgot to ask if you checked the impact sensor. More than likely the fuel pump is needed. You can have someone turn the key on and off while you thump the tank with something and see if it comes on. It will only run for a few seconds when the key is turned to run.

Re: 1997 ford tuarus wont start ? please help

Hi Bert, not sure if you can help but this is where i am. I banged on the tank while son turned on and off the car, no luck. I dropped the tank and tried direct power to the pump. there is about four gallons of fuel in the tank. the pump sounds like it turns on but does not pump any fuel out the lines. The pump sounds like a hum. any help you can offer would be great. Thanks again and have a great day. Mark

With direct power to the pump and no fuel pumping. Looks like you need a new pumpor the hose fell off the top. Since the tank is down pull the assembly and rplce it. I don't trust aftermarket pumps.

The aftermarket pumps cost less but they could quit in a year or so.
