1997 sable wagon speed sensor location

I've got a 97 sable wagon and is showing an error code for a malfunctioning vehicle speed sensor. The car is also showing many of the symptoms - speedometer is erratic, rpms fluctuate.

My problem is I have been unable to locate where this is to replace. The Hayne's manual I have has a picture, but not one that allows me to hone in on where this can be found. The manual does state that the location for the VSS changed in 1999, but not much more than that.

Can anyone help me out?
Thanks
