Re: 1998 Taurus, shield of chassis is removed
I know quite a bit about vehicles in general, but never have I heard of a "shield of chassis". If you refer to a skid-plate, which protects underbody components then you'll be fine unless you plan to bottom out the vehicle on curbs. I know there are no underbody shields or plates on my '99. Only thing under there is an air dam to improve aerodynamics by deflecting air that would otherwise go under the vehicle and out the back, to around the sides for better flow.
Explain a bit more in regards to this 'shield of chassis' so others, and even myself, can help you out.
