I have a 1999 Mercury Sable with DOHC. It has the automatic air conditioner button (Max A/C), and there is cold air blowing out of the small vent on the top of the dash but no cold air coming out of the vents on the front of the dash. It also gets a lot of condensation on the outside of the windshield. I put freon in it, although not much, because it was fully charged. It also seems to get cooler in the car if you are driving on the freeway, but on the city streets, it hardly cools the car at all. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a vacuum problem. Check the lines under the hood first.
